Kayaks come in many variations depending on the specific type of paddling you want to follow, from general recreational paddling to Sea Kayaking or White Water Kayaking to name a few. In most cases you will be wearing a spray deck around the cockpit to keep water from entering the kayak.

We offer Courses from the Paddle UK training scheme, from complete beginners – Start Paddling to the more advanced Explore level

Sit On Top (SOT) kayaks are probably one of the most common kayaks for general recreational paddling and preferred by most people because they are easy to get back onto, if you happen to fall off.

They are very tough and can be either single or double kayaks. They are a really good platform for fishing, with some made specifically for this purpose.

Open Canoe or Canadian Canoe are very versatile craft and are a great way to travel on longer journeys, with lots of kit. A slower craft to paddle than kayaks and require more skill to paddle solo. These come in various lengths and are able to seat a few people, ideal for families.

Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) are available in either inflatable or hard design. The majority of users will buy an inflatable SUP, as they are easy to transport, being the size of a large suitcase when deflated. Hard SUP’s are used in waves, sprint and long distance racing but there are also recreational versions available.
